Owner of ‘X’ (former Twitter) and Billionaire businessman, Elon Musk, has demanded the resignation of the Director of the United States Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, following the assassination attempt on former president Trump and Republican Party candidate in the forthcoming elections.
Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday was disrupted by gunshots fired at the rally– with the injured former president rushed off stage by security staff.
Despite the Secret Service neutralising the shooter, Musk demanded the resignation of the head of the service and the leader of Trump’s security detail.
He made the call while reacting to a BBC report of an eyewitness claiming he informed police and Secret Service about a suspicious man on a roof with a rifle but was ignored.
Musk wrote, “The head of the Secret Service and the leader of this security detail should resign.”
