Last night, it was another moment of brilliant soccer as Arsenal dominated Sevilla in a UCL encounter.
Now, Arsenal remains four points clear atop Group B in the UEFA Champions League as the Mikel Arteta’s side shone in every facet of the game in the 2-0 victory over Sevilla.
For Sevilla, Saka was simply scary but that is no excuse. The Spaniards, who are the Europa League winners, are the top seeds in this group. But frankly they never lived up to this billing. They did not even earn a corner against Arsenal until the 94th minute and it is sad that they decided to go for Saka so much with centre-back Nemanja Gudelj the main crude culprit.

There has been debate about Saka’s form, probably linked to his fitness, but he was razor-sharp here and Sevilla were in danger of dying from a thousand cuts as he attacked down the right and Gabriel Martinelli did the same down the left.
The raw all out attention of the Sevilla’s defenders Marred an otherwise interesting soccer display. This culminated in Saka being fouled five times within 28 minutes. An early yellow card for Sevilla would have calmed things down but the referee seemed unwilling to do the needed.
Not that Saka was stopped and his involvement in Arsenal’s opening goal was superb.
However, while Saka claimed the official man-of-the-match award the most peerless performer was Declan Rice who utterly dominated midfield and won back possession to allow Jorginho to slide a smart pass inside the Sevilla full-back. It was met by Saka whose low cross was shot home by Leandro Trossard for the first goal.
It was a training ground kind of goal and watchers commented tonight’s goal by Trossard was the fifth time this season that Saka had assisted Trossard, playing as a centre-forward with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.
Saka’s goal, the second for this match, was again a result of his own brilliance and the limitations of Sevilla who looked like what they are – a side struggling in La Liga.

Martinelli received the ball from a throw-in, three defenders were moved towards him allowing Saka to run away free into the Sevilla’s half. When he received a pass, he ran towards goal, chopped back and sliced the ball into the net.
