. Flays NBC’S Indifference to unethical broadcasts
. Urge Kogites to troop out for the polls
. Dismisses PDP/Melaye as non-existent threat
Ahead of the November 11th off-cycle Guber polls in Kogi State, the APC Governorship Campaign Council has expressed reservations on the recent security operations in some parts of Kogi East, especially in Dekina Local Government Area where chieftains of the ruling All progressives Congress were arrested for reasons unknown to the party.
Kingsley Fanwo, Kogi State Commissioner for information, who also doubles as the Campaign Council director of information, Spoke to newsmen at a press parley in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
According to the spokesperson, “Our chieftains were not involved in any act inimical to the peace of the state and shouldn’t have been subjected to such treatment.”

While stating that the rabble rousers and the camp of those inciting violence, unleashing same are well known to discerning minds, he called on the law enforcement agencies to be responsible, fair and thorough in the handling of their duties.
He stated that “In as much as we subscribe to peaceful and free polls, we also call for responsible conduct on the part of law enforcement agencies in such a way that innocent citizens are not unnecessarily punished for the sins of others. We wouldn’t condone or defend any act of lawlessness, but we make bold to say that our leaders and members that were arrested and detained did not deserve to be subjected to such treatment as they are innocent. We call on security agencies to release them unconditionally so that they can be reunited with their families. “
“It is not in doubt as to the candidates fanning the embers of violence and division. “
“A member of the All Progressives Congress was murdered in cold blood at Kotonkarfe for daring to wear a fez cap with the logo of the All Progressives Congress on the day the blood suckers were in town.”
The spokesperson described It as “sad that security agencies have not informed us how far they have gone in apprehending the trigger happy thugs that committed the murder.”
“We therefore salute advocacy groups who have not lost their voices in seeking justice for Khadija. Acts of terrorism must not be allowed in politics and the surest way to arrest the trend of political violence is to ensure perpetrators are brought to book. Those who killed Khadija have continued to think they can step on her blood to power. Security agencies must prove that every life is important.”
Speaking on the Opposition, and his party’s prospect at the coming polls, Mr Fanwo reiterated that the APC remains the party to beat to clinch the governor’s seat in the state. He explained that the achievements and credentials of the All progressives Congress in the state was overly intimidating to the opposition.
In his words, “It is obvious that those fanning the embers of violence, falsehood, division and ethnocentrism are losers who were never in the race.”
” Since they have no pedigree to challenge the All Progressives Congress, they chose to create false bubbles around themselves to mislead their open and secret backers.”
“Let it be made clear to all that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress is committed and determined to keep the state within the progressive family. The performance of the APC government in Kogi State has made it almost impossible for the opposition parties to rear their heads.”
Responding to questions yet on the opposition, Fanwo described Senator Melaye as a non-existent threat except maybe to himself, and sees the PDP in Kogi State as a party on the verge of being permanently buried.
He classified a candidate who seemingly enjoyed television coverage as being “self-inflated”.
“It is ludicrous that one of the self-inflated candidates for the election has continued to make mockery of himself, moving from one television station to the other to showcase his ignorance. But this is a bold sign of defeat. The NBC has also looked the other way as broadcasting ethics were flagrantly violated.”
Meanwhile, he expressed the gratitude of the APC Campaign Council to the president and commander in Chief for insisting on the conduct of a free and fair elections; and also his support for the campaign council as the national leader of the APC.
He called on the people of Kogi State to troop out to make a statement on Saturday.
