He said this is not the first time he has handled a case involving Happiness, as it is his third time personally handling a case against the suspect.
Happiness Adebayo is the primary suspect in the murder of Mojisola Awesu, a 21-year-old graduate of the Kwara State College of Health Technology.
Awesu was allegedly lured to a hotel in Ilorin by Adebayo, where she was murdered and abandoned before the hotel staff went to dump her body in a refuse site.
The case against Happiness and six other suspects, including his parents, is on-going. They face charges of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, theft, and other offenses.

“On his phone, the deceased number was saved as Tim’s frd, and his second WhatsApp account was also saved as Tim’s frd and he used his own known WhatsApp account to chat with the account as if he was chatting with the deceased.
“I checked further to check the message his father, Adebayo Adeniyi who is also standing trial sent to his son,
The message reads:
“We are in your school, just to save. I am the only one that can save you, don’t run for me. Come to me at the earlier stage before the matter expand because you are not yourself and this is the battle u must over go”.
“This message made me to approach the DPO, to suggest Awesu Mojisola’s phone number to technological tracking and location checking.
So the tracking shows Ogunse area, behind College of Health Technology, Offa as the last location of her line.
“Then the DPO transfered the matter to the State CID for discreet investigation.
“On 24th August, an intelligent
information was received that the third defendant, Adeniyi Bukola, the mother of Happiness was found at Ogunse Area in an attempt to bury a glow sim card wrapped in a paper on the wall of a fence of a neighbor.
“Sequel to that information, I moved to the scene of the crime, but I realized the third defendant has been handed over to a civil defence officer who reside in the area.
“I eventually got the woman and she told me while I was taking her to the police station that, she found a phone in the boot of her husband’s car, the car they used to pack the load of Happiness from Summit University.
“We branched her house and one iPhone 11 pro, white color was recovered from the boot and we moved to the police station.
“I put the SIM card inside one Nokia phone and dialed the deceased number and it rang. This confirmed that the SIM card belongs to the deceased, Mojisola Awesu.
“We then transferred the woman and the exhibits to the officers at the state CID.
During the cross examination,
