Zamfara Residents Desert Communities After Bandit Turji’s Threats

Many residents in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State have started to desert their communities following the threat issued by a bandits’ kingpin, Bello Turji.

Sources from the communities confided in newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, that the bandits’ leader and his foot soldiers had already started making Shinkafi LGA and the road linking to Isa in Sokoto state very unsafe.

Bello Turji in a serious warning to the Nigerian government gave the options to either release his in-law, who was arrested by the security forces in Shinkafi, or he would return to his brutality against the people of the area.

It could also be recalled that the former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, lamented that the bandits’ leader has already begun to execute his threat, pointing out that he had already attacked a vehicle along the Jangeru to Cheki road, killing many and setting many vehicles ablaze.
