The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested a former Minister of Power, Sale Mamman over alleged N22b fraud.
The arrest of the former minister was allegedly effected early Wednesday and has been detained at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency.
The EFCC had launched an investigation into alleged graft in the execution of power projects when Sale was minister.
Former minister, Mamman is alleged to have conspired with officials of the ministry in charge of the accounts of the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power projects to divert N22 billion, which they shared amongst themselves.
The investigations have also uncovered properties in Nigeria and overseas linked to the suspects, while millions of naira and dollars have been recovered.
The Taraba-born Mamman was dismissed in 2021, two years after his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2019.
