The Kwara State government has further demonstrated it’s believe in the youth of the state as the most critical factor for sustainable development.
At a well attended International Youth Day celebration which held at the government house banquet hall, the state government empowered a hundred young entrepreneurs with a million naira grant each.
The event at the banquet hall is a continuation of the Kwarapreneur 1.0, a program driven by the office of the Kwara State Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP).
In his remarks at the event, the Executive Governor of the state, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, observed that the Kwara Youth can do much, and go places if given the right atmosphere to thrive. He identified Kwarapreneur as one of the many ambitious programs of government to unlock the potentials of the young entrepreneurs in Kwara State.
Governor Abdulrazak explained that the United Nations has consistently affirmed in their released data that Africa has the largest youth population. He said it therefore becomes imperative for the government to put in place ideals that can bring out the best in the youth.
Side attractions at the event includes the display of products by the youth entrepreneurs who had benefited in the many youth entrepreneurial development programs of government in the state.
