Former U.S. President Donald Trump has delivered a forceful warning to Iran, saying the country would face catastrophic consequences if any assassination attempt were made against him.
Trump made the remarks during a televised interview on NewsNation aired Tuesday, where he reacted to what he described as repeated threats from Iranian officials. According to him, the United States has already mapped out a decisive response should such an attack ever occur.
The former president said he had issued what he called “very firm instructions” regarding America’s reaction if his life were threatened or taken, stressing that Iran would pay an irreversible price.
“If something were to happen, they would be wiped off the face of the earth,” Trump said during the interview, underscoring the severity of the warning.
He cautioned Tehran against even contemplating such an action, insisting that the fallout would be devastating and final. Trump claimed the instructions he left behind were explicit and left no room for ambiguity.
Speaking later on NewsNation’s Katie Pavlich Tonight, Trump described the alleged threats as disturbing but reiterated that Iran had so far not acted on them. Nonetheless, he maintained that any such move would trigger overwhelming retaliation.
“They shouldn’t be doing it,” he said. “But I’ve already made it clear—if anything happens, the response would be total.”
Trump emphasized that the consequences would not be personal but national, arguing that Iran itself would cease to exist in the event of such an attack.
“That would be the end,” he added. “There would be nothing left.”
The comments add to the long-standing tension between Trump and Tehran, marked by sharp rhetoric and heightened diplomatic strain during and after his time in office.
