Lekan Abiola, son of Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, the supposed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, says ex-military Head of State, Ibrahim Babagida (IBB), has apologized privately for his action.
Lekan disclosed this on Thursday while speaking at the MKO Abiola Memorial Symposium in Lagos.
According to him, the family felt a huge sense of relief following Babangida’s public acknowledgement and apology over his role in the annulment of the June 12 election.
He noted that IBB has kept in touch with his family.
