The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, (KWASIEC), Thursday announced that Local Government Council polls for the election of members and their Chairmen will take place across the state on September 21st 2024.
This information was contained in a statement released by the electoral body in Ilorin on Thursday.
According to the statement, “Arrangements are being put in place to make this happen within the set date. We will give further breakdown on the election Time Table of activities soon, all things being equal.
“We urge all stakeholders to follow our public communications, updates, and get ready for the elections within the time frame,”

Kwara State Local Councils election was last held in 2017 during the governorship tenure of Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Local government Councils has since been administered by “Transitional interim Councils” popularly called “TIC” in the past 5 years of the present regime.
The government of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has severally cited pending court cases that needed to be decided as reasons for delays in conducting the elections.
