Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully intercepted suspected terrorists’ logistics couriers in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, leading to the recovery of a cache of ammunition in a targeted security operation.
According to military sources, the operation was carried out following actionable intelligence on the movement of suspected logistics operatives believed to be supplying arms and support materials to terrorist networks operating within and around the North-Central region.
The troops reportedly mounted a coordinated interception within the Lokoja axis, where the suspects were stopped and searched. During the encounter, a significant quantity of ammunition was discovered and subsequently recovered by the soldiers.
The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further interrogation to determine the extent of their involvement, possible affiliations, and the broader supply chain network they may be connected to.
Security authorities say the interception is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Army to disrupt terrorist logistics routes, weaken operational capabilities of armed groups, and strengthen security across vulnerable corridors in Kogi State and neighboring regions.
Further details are expected to be released as investigations continue.
