Following the concluded primary elections in parties preparing for the Edo State off-cycle Guber election, an ex-governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Felix Akhabue, yesterday, resigned his membership of the party, accusing the leadership of the PDP of prejudice.
Also, another ex-governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Victoria Amu, resigned her membership of the APC, citing ‘personal and family reasons’.
Akhabue, in his resignation letter, addressed to the Ward 7 PDP Chairman, Esan West Local Government Area, and copied to the Local Government Chairman, Senatorial Chairman, State Chairman and the National Working Committee of the party, said: “My decision to resign is borne out of the glaring prejudicial activities of the party’s leadership against my fair, reasonable and continuous participation as a member of the party.
“I wish to use this opportunity to appreciate some genuine friends in the party we have worked with in the past years.”
Similarly, Dr. Victoria Amu, in her resignation letter addressed to Ward 4 Chairman of the party in Owan West Local Government Area, said she was quitting the party for personal and family reasons.
