A leading governorship aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, has declared his total loyalty to the party’s leadership and pledged support for the direction of the party ahead of the 2027 governorship process in the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday following consultations with key leaders of the party, Sulaiman said leadership should be driven by service, purpose, and commitment to the people rather than personal ambition.
The APC stalwart disclosed that he recently held meetings with the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, after which he resolved to align fully with the collective decisions of the party concerning the forthcoming governorship process.
According to him, “As a loyal party man who believes strongly in discipline, institutional respect, party supremacy, and the unity of our great party, I have taken the decision to fully support the direction and position of the APC regarding the forthcoming governorship process.”
Sulaiman also called on his supporters across the three senatorial districts of Kwara State to remain peaceful and committed to the unity of the party, stressing that the progress of the state and the success of the APC must take precedence over individual ambitions.
Reflecting on his political engagements across the state, the renowned medical expert said his interactions with youths, women, workers, and grassroots communities inspired the “Kwara Prosperity Agenda,” a vision he described as one aimed at creating opportunities and building an inclusive society where hard work and talent can thrive irrespective of social background.
He noted that the movement built around his aspiration transcends politics and remains rooted in ideas, service, and genuine concern for the people.
“To the thousands of supporters across Kwara North, Kwara Central, and Kwara South, especially our youths, women, professionals, artisans, elders, party faithful, and grassroots mobilizers, I express my deepest gratitude,” he stated.
Sulaiman urged APC members to approach the party’s governorship primaries with maturity, discipline, and unity, adding that enduring political institutions are sustained through sacrifice, mutual respect, and commitment to collective progress.
The respected neurosurgeon further emphasized that the quest for a greater Kwara State anchored on competence, integrity, unity, and sustainable development remains alive despite political developments within the party.
The statement, dated May 20, 2026, reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the APC and the continued advancement of Kwara State.
