A leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Wale Sulaiman, has declared that the comprehensive development of Kwara North remains one of the critical strategies for transforming Kwara into one of Nigeria’s leading economies.
Prof. Sulaiman stated that the enormous but largely untapped potentials of the northern axis of the state position it as a major economic gateway capable of driving industrial growth, food security, job creation and sustainable prosperity across Kwara.
According to him, Kwara North is richly blessed with abundant natural resources, vast arable land suitable for large-scale agriculture, and a huge reservoir of human capital that must be deliberately harnessed for the overall advancement of the state.
The renowned medical expert and philanthropist noted that any serious economic blueprint for Kwara’s future must place strategic attention on unlocking the economic capacities of the region through deliberate investments in infrastructure, agriculture, education, technology and enterprise development.
He explained that with proper planning and purposeful leadership, Kwara North could emerge as a major agricultural and agro-industrial hub not only for the state but for the entire North Central region.
Prof. Sulaiman further stressed that empowering the youths and supporting local productivity in the region would significantly reduce unemployment while expanding the state’s internally generated revenue.
He maintained that balanced development across the three senatorial districts remains essential for economic stability, social inclusion and long-term growth, adding that no part of the state should remain underdeveloped despite its huge economic prospects.
The APC chieftain also reiterated his commitment to policies that would attract investments into rural communities, improve access roads, boost irrigation farming and strengthen small and medium-scale enterprises in agrarian areas.
He expressed confidence that with the right economic direction and people-focused governance, Kwara possesses the capacity to become one of the most prosperous subnational economies in Nigeria.
