Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League campaign came to a humiliating end on Tuesday night as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a commanding 3–0 victory at Stamford Bridge, progressing to the quarter-finals with an emphatic 8–2 aggregate scoreline.
Already trailing 5–2 from the first leg in Paris, Chelsea needed a near-perfect performance on home soil. Instead, the English side fell further behind just six minutes into the match when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia capitalized on a defensive lapse to open the scoring for PSG.
PSG doubled their advantage in the 15th minute through Bradley Barcola, who finished off a swift counterattack to effectively extinguish any hopes of a Chelsea comeback. The French champions maintained control for much of the contest, exploiting defensive vulnerabilities and dictating the tempo of play.

The tie was put beyond doubt in the 62nd minute when 19-year-old substitute Senny Mayulu added a third goal, completing a dominant display by the visitors.
Chelsea, despite registering multiple attempts on goal, struggled to seriously test PSG goalkeeper Matvei Safonov, reflecting a blunt attacking performance on a night they needed inspiration.
The defeat caps a disappointing two-legged affair for the Blues, who had initially shown promise in the first leg before conceding three late goals to lose 5–2 in Paris.
Matters worsened late in the second leg when defender Trevoh Chalobah was forced off with an injury, leaving Chelsea to finish the match with ten men after exhausting their substitutions.
The heavy aggregate loss marks one of Chelsea’s worst-ever performances in a European knockout tie and has intensified scrutiny on manager Liam Rosenior, who is already facing mounting pressure following a string of poor results.
For PSG, the comprehensive victory underlines their credentials as defending champions and strong contenders to retain the title, as they now await their quarter-final opponents.
