Armed bandits have reportedly abducted two female passengers in a fresh security breach along a travel route in Kwara State, underscoring growing concerns over the safety of commuters in the region.
The incident occurred in Bacita community, located in Edu Local Government Area of the state, where the victims were seized by gunmen while on a journey.
Details surrounding the attack remain limited, but the abduction adds to a troubling pattern of recent assaults on communities and travellers across parts of Kwara, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
Security developments in the state in recent weeks suggest a resurgence of bandit activity, with multiple communities experiencing raids, kidnappings, and violent disruptions. Residents in affected areas have increasingly expressed fears over their safety, especially on highways and less-policed routes.
The latest abduction highlights the vulnerability of passengers, as criminal groups continue to exploit gaps in surveillance and rapid response across local corridors.
