Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the recruitment of 2,600 additional forest guards to strengthen security operations across the state, particularly in Kwara North and South.
The latest move comes as part of the state government’s renewed efforts to tackle banditry, safeguard communities, and enhance peace and stability.
According to the government, training for the new recruits will commence this week. Like the 700 forest guards earlier deployed, the fresh batch will undergo intensive military training covering the use of sophisticated weapons, tactical defense systems, and modern counter-insurgency strategies.
The newly recruited personnel will work hand-in-hand with security agencies already stationed at the frontline to reinforce ongoing operations against criminal elements.
Governor AbdulRazaq’s approval reflects his administration’s strong commitment to strengthening security architecture in Kwara State, ensuring that residents can live and work in safety while communities enjoy sustainable peace.
