Nigeria’s leading commercial bank, Guarantee Trust Bank, has described as entirely false report of its website being seized by hackers.

According to a Daily Post report, a top GTB executive, who is not authorized to speak made it known exclusively to the publication.

The publication reports that the clarification comes amid a report that its website has been compromised by hackers and customers’ data intercepted in a massive phishing operation.

This claim has been described as entirely untrue by a Daily Post source.

He clarified that the bank was having a connectivity issue but that it had nothing to do with hacking.
