The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially released the deployment details for 2026 Batch A Stream 1 prospective corps members, confirming that call-up letters are now available on the scheme’s official portal. The development marks a major milestone in the mobilisation process for thousands of Nigerian graduates preparing to commence the mandatory one-year national service.
In a public advisory issued by the scheme, NYSC directed eligible prospective corps members (PCMs) to log in to the official NYSC portal to print their call-up letters, which serve as formal confirmation of mobilisation. The document contains critical information such as the state of deployment, orientation camp address, reporting date, and registration guidelines.
NYSC stressed that the call-up letter is a mandatory document for registration at orientation camps nationwide. Prospective corps members without printed call-up letters will not be allowed to participate in the orientation exercise, making early access and verification essential.
The scheme also announced special arrangements for some states due to limited accommodation capacity at certain orientation camps. As a result, not all corps members deployed to Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory will undergo orientation in those locations.
According to the deployment advisory, prospective corps members posted to Lagos State may have their orientation courses conducted in neighbouring states such as Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, or Kwara, while those posted to the FCT may be directed to orientation camps in Kaduna, Niger, or Nasarawa States.
NYSC further advised prospective corps members to study the information on their call-up letters carefully, noting that the orientation camp stated on the letter is the only approved location for registration. Any attempt to report to a different camp without official clearance may lead to disqualification.
On travel and safety, the scheme strongly cautioned corps members against night travel to orientation camps. NYSC encouraged all participants to plan their journeys early and travel during the daytime to reduce security risks and ensure safe arrival.
The service corps also warned that discrepancies between personal records and official documents, particularly graduation dates and names, could result in delays or denial of registration. Prospective corps members were urged to resolve all issues through the NYSC portal before reporting to camp.
Special guidance was issued to married female prospective corps members who may not be posted to their husband’s state of residence. NYSC advised such individuals to report to the nearest orientation camp and present relevant documents if they intend to apply for concessional posting on marital grounds.
The 2026 Batch A Stream 1 orientation exercise is scheduled to commence nationwide in January, with registration, swearing-in ceremonies, and camp activities expected to follow the standard NYSC timetable. The scheme reaffirmed its commitment to a smooth, safe, and well-coordinated mobilisation process, urging all prospective corps members to comply strictly with official guidelines.
