Destiny fulfilment invariably requires opportunity meeting preparedness in a man.
The man, Honorable Jimoh Raheem Agboola on a first meeting with anyone come with the impression of a witty, thoughtful homeboy. And indeed, he is an embodiment of knowledge that belie his appearance and humility.
On my first meeting with him, I looked forward to a typical politician who would attempt to out talk me in a show of how knowledgeable he is. No, Agboola is not of that ilk.
He was unassuming, but very aware of his environment. When calls began to pelt his cell phone on this occasion of our meeting, the manner of patience and humility of tone as he attended to the calls further intrigued me. One of his aides told me he recieves calls in the range of 150 daily on his constituency dedicated phone line.
I did not have to wonder too long why he has an effortless acceptance in his constituency. I found the charisma in his voice is tied to his ability to dispense his knowledge to his constituents in his home accent which the people understand clearly and can identify with. To them, he is one of their own and this will count so much in the coming elections.
Now, very many people in Ilorin south which he represents in the state House of Assembly see him as an opportunity denied them to experience his sound representation by the ruling APC in the state. They however, are overjoyed by the prospect of having him in a bigger, broader and stronger representative capacity. They see him as the candidate they needed for their representation in the federal House of Reps.

In all these, his two times stint at the state legislature seem to have perfected his preparedness for the consensus ticket of his party PDP in an atmosphere of acceptance by the electorate. He is a name to watch and a man to beat for the Ilorin South/East federal constituency seat in the coming elections.
